Vocalist Aydın Kahya and conductor, pianist, composer Rustam Rahmedov will perform as a duo in the program of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival.

Ankara-born Aydın Kahya, after completing his education with high honors at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, studied composition and vocal techniques with Prof. İlhan Baran and Keisha Brown. His discography includes Vocalists (1999), the first Turkish jazz album released by Blue Note, produced by Önder Foçan, and Tony Jones’ R&B album Istanbul Party (2006).

Rustam Rahmedov, born into a family of opera singers in Ashgabat, graduated with honors from the Piano Department of the Turkmenistan National Conservatory and reinforced his success as a soloist by winning awards in prestigious piano competitions. As of the 2023-2024 season, he continues his role as a conductor at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet.

The Aydın Kahya & Rustem Rahmedov Duo will take the stage at Akbank Sanat on the evening of October 9th with their project “The Best Movie Songs of All Time.”
