FAİK ŞENOL, ONCE UPON A TIME IN ISTANBUL
Faik Şenol, one of the names who kept the record of the times he lived in, photographed the cultural, political, and sociological changes of Istanbul, where he opened his eyes in 1912 and walked the streets since his childhood. Faik Şenol, who started his career with the newspaper Vakit, worked as a photojournalist for newspapers such as Son Saat, Akşam, Memleket, Hadise, Tam, and Yedigün. Entering the publishing world in 1946, the artist has made significant contributions to the Turkish press archives with Basın Foto Ajansı, Radyo Haftası mecmuası, and Hadise Yayınevi. His work in the exhibition consists of frames documenting the development and change of Istanbul. The artist focuses on human and city landscapes, consisting of photographs in the archives of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
