Contemporary artist Genco Gülan’s Restless Poseidon bust continues its journey across the Mediterranean. Initially exhibited near Büyükada Ferry Pier in 2021, at the invitation of art critic and architect Mahmut Nüvit and with the support of the Islands Art Initiative, the sculpture was later displayed at the Bodrum Maritime Museum.

The ‘Restless Poseidon’ bust be displayed near Moda Pier for 212 Photography Istanbul, continuing its unsettling narrative on the climate crisis and environmental disasters. The God of the Seas, depicted with a mossy beard and a fierce expression, symbolises fury at nature’s devastating transformation and the degradation of marine habitats. The tension Poseidon creates as he rides the waves invites the audience to reflect on the pressing environmental issues facing our world.
