MGSU Tophane-İ Amire Culture and Art Center
Visiting Hours: 10:00 - 22:00
Tophane-i Amire is one of the most significant military production facilities of the Ottoman period, where cannons were cast for the empire. Established in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, the complex occupies a strategic location on the shores of the Golden Horn and plays a key role in the empire’s military strength.
Architecturally striking, this monumental structure today operates under Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University as an exhibition hall and cultural events. Bringing together its historical identity with contemporary art, Tophane-i Âmire offers both the traces of the past and the creative energy of the present.
