Grammy-winning composer, pianist, arranger, and bandleader Nicole Zuraitis is one of contemporary vocal jazz’s most distinctive voices, continually expanding the boundaries of the genre. Her 2023 album How Love Begins, created with Christian McBride, earned the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album, making Zuraitis the first artist to win the category with an album entirely written and arranged by herself. Her collaborations with drummer Dan Pugach, who joins her in Istanbul, and projects including their reimagining of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” have further established her as a compelling presence in today’s jazz landscape.
