Organised by the International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA), this report marks a milestone in the field: the first global study to offer a comprehensive and comparative look into photography festivals across five continents. Drawing on data from 215 festivals and fairs, the research reveals both the shared challenges and distinctive approaches shaping today’s festival landscape. From funding models to artist engagement, from public outreach to structural and political questions—this session offers a rare panoramic insight into the current state of photography festivals worldwide.
