St. Benoît Church
Visiting Hours: 11:00 - 20:00
Situated on the slopes of Galata in Beyoğlu, St. Benoît Church was built in the mid-15th century by French priests and has survived as one of the oldest still-active Catholic churches in Istanbul. Combining Gothic and Baroque elements, its architecture features a modest stone façade and stained-glass windows, serving for centuries as a centre for both worship and education.
Today, alongside regular religious services, the church also opens its doors to cultural events. With its quiet courtyard, arched passageways, and historic atmosphere, St. Benoît continues to embody Galata’s layered history and cosmopolitan spirit.
