From Photogram to the Age of AI: Cameraless Photography

Burcu Böcekler traces the origins of cameraless photography while exploring its historical development and place within contemporary art. Through a series of visual examples, the talk moves from William Henry Fox Talbot’s early experiments and 19th-century botanical studies to 20th-century avant-garde movements and contemporary practices. At a time when artificial intelligence and digital technologies are becoming increasingly pervasive, cameraless photography is reconsidered through questions of process, materiality, and originality.
