Today, the photobook is a vital means of disseminating work, supporting the international mobility of artists and contributing to the development of contemporary photography scenes. At the crossroads of art, visual research and transmission, it also creates opportunities for new connections between different photographic communities.

France PhotoBook brings together around thirty independent French publishing houses from across France and champions the photobook as a distinct editorial field in its own right. Bringing together publishers, photographers, booksellers, curators and visual arts professionals, the programme aims to strengthen ties and foster collaboration between France and Türkiye through the photobook.

Through exhibitions, editorial presentations and professional meetings, the project highlights the vitality of publishing practices while creating a space for exchange between creators, publishers and the public. In doing so, it foregrounds the photobook not simply as a publishing format, but as a space where work circulates, different experiences meet and new connections can emerge.

The programme takes place as part of 212 Photography Istanbul, in partnership with Institut français de Turquie and France PhotoBook, with a focus on professional encounters between French and Turkish figures in photographic publishing.
