One of Istanbul’s landmark developments of the 1950s and 1960s, İstanbul Manifaturacılar Çarşısı (İMÇ) represents one of the most significant collaborations between art and architecture of Türkiye’s Republican period. Led by Şehrin Panoları, this walk explores İMÇ’s distinctive architecture alongside the ceramic works, mosaics, and murals integrated into the complex. Through works by artists including Füreya Koral, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Kuzgun Acar, and Sabri Berkel, participants will consider the role of art in public space, while also exploring the complex’s design process, its relationship with Süleymaniye, and current questions around its preservation.
Participation is limited to 25 people.
