Led by art historian Azat Meriç, this tour offers an architectural exploration along the shores of the Golden Horn, tracing Istanbul’s history from the Genoese period through the Ottoman era. Beginning at Karaköy Palas and extending into the historic fabric of Perşembe Pazarı, the route offers an opportunity to explore Istanbul’s multicultural identity on site. Participants follow in the footsteps of landmarks such as the Underground Mosque (Yeraltı Camii), the Kamondo Stairs, the Saliha Sultan Fountain that adorns the square, the Hagia Sophia Bedesten, once considered the heart of commerce before the Grand Bazaar, and the historic Arap Mosque, which bears traces of the Genoese period. The journey concludes at the Azapkapı Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque, an aesthetic masterpiece by Mimar Sinan, renowned for its mesmerizing Iznik tilework.
