Reframing Reality
Collect Gallery brings together Nina Kovacheva and Valentin Stefano, two artists who use photography not only to document the world but to transform the way we perceive the familiar. Through carefully constructed photographic worlds, both artists turn their attention to everyday objects and forms, revealing unexpected narratives and realities beneath their surfaces.
In Smiles Giving, Tears Crying, Nina Kovacheva stages enigmatic scenes with figurines and everyday objects, creating unsettling narratives that reflect the contradictions, emotions, and vulnerabilities of contemporary society. In Plastic Romanticism, Valentin Stefano focuses on overlooked details of inanimate matter, transforming ordinary forms into unexpected compositions and revealing a hidden sense of beauty.
Together, the two series explore photography as a way of shifting perception and questioning appearances. Moving between the familiar and the unfamiliar, Smiles Giving, Tears Crying and Plastic Romanticism invite viewers to look more closely at their surroundings and rediscover the extraordinary within the everyday.
