Nebulous explores themes of memory, belonging, and distance through Devin Oktar Yalkın’s longing for Turkey. Bringing together photographs taken across different geographies over the years, the exhibition reflects on the idea that a sense of belonging to one place can be carried with us into other places.

Moving between landscapes, figures, animals, interiors, and nature, the photographs are connected by a shared sensibility, while water emerges as both a symbol of separation and transition. Meaning “indistinct,” “blurred,” or “misty” in English, the word nebulous reflects the exhibition’s exploration of how memory and longing transform over time and distance.

As the familiar gradually becomes less defined, the exhibition considers how longing for the past shapes not only the way a place is remembered, but also the way the world beyond that place is seen.
