Re-cover: From Uzelli Archive to Street
This time, there is sound within the memory of the Istanbul Textile Traders’ Market (İMÇ). Taking place in September at İMÇ’s Sixth Block, this exhibition, realized in collaboration with Uzelli Müzik, brings back into circulation an archive that has left its mark on the history of music in Türkiye. Selected from more than a thousand albums released under the Uzelli label, correspondence, photographs, alternative cover designs, and documents related to the production process become starting points for artists working in the streets. As part of the exhibition, selected albums are handed over to the artists together with their archival materials. Each artist creates a new cover and an entirely new visual world based on the materials they receive, establishing a visual dialogue between the past and the present. Tracing four distinct periods in Uzelli’s approach to album cover design, the exhibition also sheds light on the transformation of graphic language, production technologies, and visual culture over the years.
Wednesday-Friday: 12:00-18:00
Saturday: 11:00-14.00
The exhibition is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
